Principal's Message

University Preparatory is proud to have twice been a recipient of the distinguished National Blue Ribbon Award. This is the highest honor a school may receive in the United States. We are also recognized as a California Distinguished School and we have received the Title I Academic Achievement Award given by the California State Department of Education.

U.S. News and World Report has ranked University Preparatory a Gold Medal school as one of the top 500 schools in the nation five years in a row. There ranking is based on college readiness.  "College Readiness is based on the percentages of 12th graders who were tested and passed AP® exams.  The maximum college readiness index value is 100.0"  Our school was ranked #163 nationally and 21th within the state of California.

These accomplishments demonstrate that our students are being given the opportunity to maximize their talents and abilities in achieving their true potential. It is our desire not to just create good students or equip and prepare them for college, but to teach them how to be successful young men and women who will become the productive and positive citizens and the leaders of tomorrow. These leaders with character and knowledge will have the ability to shape and change the world they live in today.

At University Preparatory we believe that we have been entrusted with the awesome responsibility of nurturing and instructing some incredible young people. We realize that working together for the common good is not a skill to be taught, but a skill that is demonstrated by all of our staff.

"Igniting A Passion For Learning."
